UNIONS
Segal Roitman is New England’s oldest and largest union side labor
law firm. Founded in 1972, Segal Roitman represents scores of
private and public sector labor unions throughout New England. Segal Roitman represents statewide labor organizations, such as
the Massachusetts AFL-CIO and the Massachusetts Building Trades
Council, International Unions, and local unions. We represent unions in the building trades, industrial unions, service employee unions, university and teacher associations, and public employee unions.
Today, Segal Roitman’s practice ranges from the newest issues in organizing, to rights of immigrant workers, to contract negotiations and litigation with multinational corporations. We can do this because our firm is built on a solid foundation Our founding partner, Bob Segal, brought the first case in federal court under the National Labor Relations Act (then known as the Taft Hartley Act) and participated in drafting many of our state labor laws. More recently, Segal Roitman represented the Boston Building Trades Council in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case upholding the validity of project labor agreements by a 9-0 unanimous vote, a rarity in current Supreme Court jurisprudence.
