NANCY J. SMITH Nancy Smith’s practice focuses on Employee Benefits. In her Employee Benefits practice, Nancy advises Taft-Hartley funds and other employee benefit plan sponsors regarding ERISA and Internal Revenue Code compliance with respect to plan documents, summary plan descriptions, reporting and disclosure requirements, and plan operations. Nancy also assists employee benefit plans and non-profit labor organizations with IRS filings such as requests for determination letters and applications for tax-exemption. In addition, she is advises union and individual clients with respect to various taxation and other regulatory matters. As well as working full-time at Segal Roitman during law school, Nancy was the recipient of the CALI Award, and the New England Scholar Award . She was an Executive Technical Editor with the New England Journal on Criminal and Civil Confinement.
