Nicole (Nikki) Horberg Decter represents unions and union members in all aspects of labor and other employment-related litigation. She also represents individuals in employment discrimination and wage and hour matters as well as contract negotiations and severance agreements.
As union counsel, Nikki has represented union clients before arbitrators, the National Labor Relations Board, the Massachusetts Division of Labor Relations, the Massachusetts Civil Service Commission, the Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Energy, as well as the Massachusetts state and federal courts. Her labor practice also includes contract negotiations, client counseling and legislative drafting. Additionally, Nikki has represented individual clients in the Massachusetts state and federal courts and the MCAD.
Nikki is a member of the Steering Committee of the Boston Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section and the union-side co-chair of its Labor sub-committee. She was named a New England “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2009 and 2010. She is a former member of the Board of the Directors of the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee.
Nikki began her legal career as a legal fellow in the General Counsel’s Office of the AFL-CIO in Washington, D.C. and was an associate at a union labor law firm where she concentrated on labor and employment matters.
